The trio known as Donovan’s Brain has been busy this last year. The is the result. Insect Accessories is the 17th album released by the band since 1998. Three multi-instrumentalist songwriters unleashed the muse. Insect Accessories is a twenty-five song double CD set.
What does it sound like? Insect Accessories is a sprawling psychedelic trip powered by guitars and colored with synthetic and natural keyboard sounds. Nimble drumming pushes and pulls the songs through a constantly changing landscape. The word psych means anything can happen, and it does
Donovan’s Brain has been experimenting with sounds for over thirty years now. Scott Sutherland, Joe Adragna and Ron Sanchez with help from Scott McCaughey have expanded their range once again.
Insect Accessories is the follow up to last year’s transitional album, Fire Printing. The band has righted themselves from the devastating loss of three key members. This new album is the song of joyous creation. Music grabbed from the spheres and carefully molded into a shimmering multi-dimensional textures.
